At Senta on the 11th of September 1697 a historically significant battle took place between the Holly Roman and Ottoman Empires. The army of Emperor Leopold I under the leadership of the famous Eugene of Savoy was victorious against the Ottomans and their allies lead by the Turkish sultan Mustafa II himself.
